5 Reasons You Should Sell Organic Products

5 minute read

Tap into the health-conscious market with organic products.  People who enjoy investing in their health are always scoping the scene for organic.  In the last 10 years the word “organic” has created a buzz across the globe and sends out the message to people that what is being sold is good for their health.

Have you ever picked up some organic fruit from the produce section of the grocery store?  Did you feel as though you were doing something good for your body?  If you did then you made the right choice and should be proud of yourself.

Health and beauty products are no different.  With info swirling around on how toxic chemicals and artificial ingredients are harmful for your health, people are looking for food grade ingredients and organic products.

And businesses like, Organic Bath Co. knows this very well…

What Your Potential Clients Want

In fact, I was recently asked by a holistic health coaching client if essential oils were safe.  My response to her was, “The essential oils that I use are safe because they are therapeutic grade, food grade, third-party tested, and grown in their indigenous regions.”

Instantly, she felt relieved because she knew that the ingredients were unadulterated and uncompromised.

This is what the organic label promises.

You can find essential oils in plenty of health and beauty products, but not all of them are safe…

Because as this article states they’re not regulated.

Same with selling herbs… People get bamboozled all the time with herbs that list “mushrooms” because they associate them with being good for your gut and preventing cancer.

But all mushrooms are not created equal and certain ones can cause death.  Some people grow them in their backyard and sell them, which is why knowing that the ingredients are organic can provide your potential clients with relief.

There is a rigorous process that farmers and businesses must go through to get the organic label.  You can read more about that process here.

Now, you may be thinking that you’d rather not sell organic products because you must go through that same process.  And you don’t.

The farmers and businesses have done that for you.  Your job is to simply list that you are using organic ingredients.  Sometimes, people will put an (*) and a key that shows it indicates an organic ingredient.

But let’s take a dive into the 5 reasons you should sell organic products…

Reason # 1- Free of Harsh Chemicals

Potential clients shouldn’t have to suffer to enhance their beauty or be healthy.  Many health and beauty products contain artificial ingredients, parabens, formaldehyde, fragrances, aldehydes, sodium lauryl sulfates…the list goes on.  These ingredients have been linked to skin irritation, breathing issues, and cancer.

Can you say 50 shades of ingredient betrayal?

Some companies are fully aware that their ingredients can harm the consumer.  And the inside ice cream scoop is that some do It on purpose to support a much darker agenda.  I’m not going to go to deep down the rabbit hole about that…

But the good news is you can be the change.  Become the business that reassures clients that the products they are purchasing from you are supporting optimal health function and you’re not using harsh chemicals.

Do you research and look for non-toxic ingredients.

Reason #2 – Nourishing to The Bloodstream

According to the University of Miss Frizzle everything that is placed on the skin seeps into the bloodstream because the skin has no filters.  In all seriousness it’s imperative to be like Miss Frizzle on the “Magic School Bus” in the health and beauty business to investigate how your products are going to affect the inside of someone’s body.

The skin is one of the main organ systems that need to be looked at…

Because when any toxic ingredient encounters the skin it pollutes the bloodstream, which then wreaks havoc on the immune, endocrine, and lymphatic systems.  The body can become susceptible to environmental threats and imbalanced.

If you have products such as vitamins or gummies, then the same principles apply.  Although, there are filters when you consume food grade products, a potential client can still have an adverse reaction when those ingredients complete the filtering process.

So, you want to use organic ingredients because the body recognizes them.

Reason # 3 – Eco-friendly

84% of customers will refuse to purchase products from a company that has poor environmental practices.  And this is good news for you because now you know what people are looking for, so you’ll be ahead of the curve.

Organic ingredients are already considered eco-friendly because they are environmentally safe.  Chemical pesticides and fertilizers are not used in their production.  You can take this a step further by researching how to incorporate better environmental practices.

Health-conscious people love to know that they are contributing to the health of the environment so you are building a community of people who will support you and want what you offer.

Reason # 4 – Building trust

Naturally or should I say organically?!  Haha…Naturally, when people are looking for health and beauty products, they want something that solves a health problem or transforms their beauty in some way.

How do you build trust?  With transparency.  Let the customer know exactly what they’re purchasing and that you care about their health.

And when they see that you took the time to incorporate high quality ingredients into your products, they will begin to trust you and will be a repeating customer.  They will most likely share their love for the company with others.

Word of mouth is a “done-for-you” way to market your business because the results speak for themselves.  Another way to not only market, but build trust is by getting case studies and testimonials from people who purchased your products.

Reason # 5 – Target audience

Whether you promote your products via email marketing or social media your messaging is what’s going to hook your target audience.  You may have already chosen your niche, but you can take it a step further by building your own “organic cult.”  You only want to talk to them.

Have you ever seen the movie “Harold and Maude”?

Well, it was considered a cult classic.  People repeatedly watch that movie and will continue to do so for years to come.  Your messaging is no different.  Discussing the benefits of organic ingredients will allow you to weed out loyal customers who need exactly what you’re selling.

And when you launch new products, they’re more likely to buy.  You’ll be building a solid foundation to have loyal clients for a long period of time.

Take Strategic Action

Take this time to brainstorm and map out what products you would like to sell.  Then think about how it would benefit people.  You can write down what health issues people face and what products make people feel beautiful.

Come up with a list of ways you can help them and then implement.  Don’t think of what can go wrong -- focus on how you want to help people and develop a marketing strategy that takes people from point A to point B.
